Concept: The Green Wind of Nature
The sixth-generation Zen master, Hui Neng, once saw two young monks quarrelling. One said, “The flag moves as the wind is blowing at it,” while the other argued, “It is the wind that is moving.” The master heard the commotion and said, “It is not the flag, nor the wind. It is your heart that is moving.”
If one releases his heart, one may see his inner self, the truth of himself. Representing anything seen is a falsity, for everything comes from within oneself.
The “Green Wind” series of oil paintings thus implies that state of enlightenment. Trends of every period are carried away at a fast pace, as though along with the breeze. We see only our image in the mirror, which flows away with time in the blink of an eye. Every face also becomes more blurred: only the window of our soul, as clear and pure as a gem, lets out rays of accurate intelligence.
With peaceful interaction with nature, loving, protecting, and integrating into one, we will not lose our soul, no matter how strong the winds blow. We will become close to nature and last eternally like the stars.
